Shutdown Windows

To avoid fastboot, use the following to do a full shutdown on Windows.

Either hold the shift key while clicking the shutdown option in the main menu

OR

run 

shutdown /s /f /t/ 0

Emergency Shutdown

CTRL+ALT+DEL, then Ctrl-click the power button in the bottom right, you'll be greeted by a prompt that says the following: 

Emergency restart
Click OK to immediately restart. Any unsaved data will be lost. Use this only as a last resort.
