Asset Insights

If the asset has not been seen for 7 days, we mark it as “soft deleted” so it doesn't show up and doesn't get included in asset calculation (not actually deleted but deleted as far as the user is concerned). We mark soft delete in the first scan that does not show it. Applies On-Prem as well and that is what it is really for. API in cloud means we pick up deletion much quicker. Soft-delete used more for traditional Network Insight were a device may be powered off. Soft delete objects are scavenged after seven days.

Here is the process for “Principal ID + Role ARN” multi-account in AWS:

  1. Create Delegation Policy at organizational level. This is what specifies your parent account(s). here
  2. Two options:
    1. Configure IAM user in parent account. Attach required permissions including AWSOrganizationsReadOnlyAccess.here
    2. Use Principal ID to create Role in parent account . Attach required permissions including AWSOrganizationsReadOnlyAccess. here
  3. Add Roles to sub-accounts, with appropriate permissions.
